Latest Monitoring Report of Reef Balls in Iran (July 4, 2005)
Due to the US Embargo restrictions, The Reef Ball Foundation Inc. Services Division is unable to supply Reef Ball molds to Iran. However, under an agreement for information sharing and mutual cooperation for environmental causes the Iranians have built their own version of Reef Balls. They do not reflect Reef Ball Standards yet, but have been built with our collaboration.

Project Background:

"The Fisheries Company of Iran, which is a governmental organization, has funded the
Marine Artificial Reef Project within a national project aimed to rehabilitate the fish stocks and create new fishing grounds.

In this regard, we started the project with designing special concrete structures for lobsters and deployed
them in the Oman Sea at the selected sites. I

I should inform you that these structures, which look like reef balls have taken their shape
from similar structures, which are now using by you worldwide. Although, we have not considered all those
factors that you use in your structures, because our structures have been designed and will be constructing
according to the availability of materials in each region. And this program is at the experimental phase."
