EVALUACIÓN PRELIMINAR DE LA COLONIZACIÓN DE REFUGIOS ARTIFICIALES POR PECES EN PUNTA PALMAR, YUCATAN, MEXICO.

May 2005 Report from Comsolida:

a) Cinvestav Proyect (Sisal Beach) monitoring of 2 years shows very good results: every unit has a median of 110 individuas, they have more than 36 different species. Written report will be forthcoming.

b) Progreso Port Breakwater has a stable beach, as a result of the Reef Ball project.

c) The lighthouse of Yalkubul, Yucatan breakwater is working fine. It has accumulated a lot of sand.

d) The Castrol, British Petroleum projects 2003 (Telchac and Chuburna) are working very good according The University of Yucatan monitoring report.

e) The Castrol, BP 2004 proyects (Dzilam and Celestun) are still undeployed. They are planned to be deployed in May-June 2005.

f) The Campeche breakwater at Isla Aguada federal highway is working fine. It has accumulated almost 2 feet of sand between the beach and the breakwater. It has stopped the growing erosion and protected the highway in the last storm season.

g) The Sabancuy Port, Campeche, Fisherman project continues with deployments which have been slowed due to financing issues..

Comsolida owns 2 Bay Balls, 1 Pallet Ball, 2 Lo Pro and 2 Mini-Bay molds plus was licensed to build molds for internal project use of the sizes Bay Balls, Pallet Balls and Lo Pros. Comsolida molds cannot be resold and are to be used only for making Reef Balls for re-sale under an authorized contractor license from the Reef Ball Foundation Inc. Services Division
