• Maryland Environmental Service is deploying 76 Bay Balls at two oyster reef sanctuaries in Dorchester County, Md. and one oyster reef sanctuary in St. Marys County, Md. on or about June 30, 2003 for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The modlules are being deployed for DNR to assess the Crassostrea viginica oyster spat set potential of Reef Balls in the middle portion of the Chesapeake Bay. Three sites were chosen for this field trial taking into consideration the natural variability in spat set.
