Holland America Cruise Lines Project

Handled by Reef Innovations, Inc.

In preparation for the creation of the Reef Ball site on Halfmoon Cay in the Bahamas for the Holland American Cruise Lines, the Reef Balls were created in Sarasota. In this series of pictures, Larry Beggs directs the concrete pours while Andy Bott helps to settle the concrete throughout the mold.

The heavy equipment operator, working on Halfmoon Cay was able to balance and move five large Reef Balls at a time from the barge to the water's edge for deployment! Don't try this a home kids!

Harry Rolfe takes a break between trips (as usual). Each Reef Ball is floated to the desired position and then lowered and anchored into place.

This reef will provide snorklers aboard Holland American Cruise Lines the opportunity to see tropical fish and plant life in an area that previously was without reef structure.
